Air India announced on Thursday, that all passengers and crew were aboard the replacement flight from Magadan in Russia to San Francisco.

In a tweet, the airline stated that it expects to arrive in San Francisco on Thursday at 12:15 am PDT (0715 GMT).

The tweet stated that Air India had mobilised additional staff at San Francisco Airport to complete clearance procedures for passengers on arrival.

Air India sent a plane to Russia to pick up passengers who were diverted from their San Francisco-to-Delhi flight to the Far East of Russia after their Boeing 787 plane developed engine problems.

The airline stated in a previous statement that more than 216 passengers, including 16 crew members, were accommodated in temporary accommodation due to the lack of infrastructure at Magadan Airport.
