Air India Says Plane Carrying Passengers Stranded in Russia Takes off for San Francisco

Air India announced on Thursday, that all passengers and crew were aboard the replacement flight from Magadan in Russia to San Francisco.
In a tweet, the airline stated that it expects to arrive in San Francisco on Thursday at 12:15 am PDT (0715 GMT).
The tweet stated that Air India had mobilised additional staff at San Francisco Airport to complete clearance procedures for passengers on arrival.
Air India sent a plane to Russia to pick up passengers who were diverted from their San Francisco-to-Delhi flight to the Far East of Russia after their Boeing 787 plane developed engine problems.
The airline stated in a previous statement that more than 216 passengers, including 16 crew members, were accommodated in temporary accommodation due to the lack of infrastructure at Magadan Airport.
