After last week's rally, Asia-Pacific markets largely fell on Monday. Japan's markets hovered near 33-year highs, while other markets saw more significant drops.

Asia-Pacific markets fell on Monday with Japan's market still nearing 33-year-highs.

The Nikkei has been gaining weekly for the past 10 weeks. However, it fell 0.14% on Monday, along with the Topix which was down by 0.1%.

The Kospi fell by 0.41% while the Kosdaq dropped 0.5%.

Australia broke the trend and saw the S&P/ASX 200 rise by 0.2%.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index is expected to begin the week with a decline, following a strong rally in the index last week. HSI Futures were at 19,988, compared with its previous close of 20,040.37.

Asian investors are looking forward to China's decision on the loan prime rate on Tuesday after the second-largest economy in terms of global GDP cut some key lending rates during last week.

On the diplomatic side, U.S. secretary of state Antony Blinken has been in Beijing for a diplomatic mission aimed at repairing strained relations between the U.S.
