This move could strengthen Tesla's relationship with the largest auto market in the world. Musk's visit to China, his first since the COVID-19 outbreak, is not surprising considering how important China's auto sales are for the automaker. China accounted in Q1 for more than half of Tesla deliveries.
Rita reports that despite Twitter being banned in China Musk has managed to become a legend among the Chinese. Musk has more than 2 million Weibo followers, who share his admiration of China, his opposition to cutting supply chains, and his plans to grow his business in China.
