Maui County Department of Finance is holding a real estate tax auction to auction off properties that are delinquent in their property taxes for at least three years and who have received a final notice of sale.
The sale will take place at the Kihei Community Center located at 303 East Lipoa St. on Tuesday, May 23. The doors open at 8:45 a.m. and the auction begins at 9:30 am.
The county announced in an announcement that seven properties were scheduled to be sold as of May 18. The county announced that properties could still be removed from tax sale lists if taxes, penalties and interest have been paid up to date.
According to the county each parcel will go to the highest bidder using a certified check or cashier’s check.
The announcement stated that those bidding must first register and confirm their funds, before the auction begins. Representatives or agents must also provide notarized documentation proving authorization to bid for the parties they represent.
