Ipswich Town has signed full-back Ben Johnson on a free transfer from West Ham United. The 24-year-old rejected contract offers from West Ham to ensure playing time and joined Ipswich instead. Johnson made over 100 appearances for West Ham and has Premier League experience. Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna praised Johnson’s talent and character, calling him a good addition to the team. This is Ipswich’s second signing of the summer as they prepare for their return to the Premier League. They have also been engaged in negotiations for the transfer of Jacob Greaves from Hull City.
