Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and Brooklyn Park's JO Cos. will be partners in the development. According to an announcement, the housing development will cost approximately $400 million.
The Heights is the redevelopment project of the former Hillcrest golf course in St. Paul. The site is being transformed into a mix housing and light industrial developments. The site is 112 acres in total and has been under construction for many years.
The St. Paul Port Authority manages the redevelopment The Heights.
Xcel Energy Inc., (NYSE: XEL), announced last week that it would purchase 20 acres in The Heights to build a new service centre. The Minneapolis-based utility plans to build a new facility at the site to replace its Rice Street Service Center located on Rice and Sycamore Streets in St. Paul.
