Starbucks's Howard Schultz to Testify About Union Activity Before Senate Committee

Starbucks Corp. interim Chief Executive Howard Schultz has offered to testify before the Senate committee, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced Tuesday. This is the latest development in an 18-month conflict between Starbucks Corp. and U.S. Baristas trying to unionize.

Independent Mr. Sanders, who chairs the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, accused the company of violating federal labor laws, accusations that the company refutes.

Mr. Sanders has alleged that Starbucks, under Mr. Schultz's leadership, has 'done everything possible to prevent' unionization and collective-bargaining efforts.
