JetBlue shares hit a 12-year low on Tuesday, after the airline announced a larger-than-expected quarterly loss and that it would be cutting back some flights.

JetBlue's disappointing third-quarter earnings was due to significant delays in the summer travel period.

Ursula Hurley, Chief Financial Officer said: "The magnitude of air traffic control delays and weather related delays have been staggering."
