U.S. stocks edged higher Monday, extending recent gains while investors await remarks by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Tuesday and labor-market data at the end of the week.
The S&P 500 climbed
0.2% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average added roughly 34 points, or 0.1%. The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.3%.
